The Church and Society Commission studies social issues that we encounter as a society and church, makes recommendations to church leadership and provides communication with church members on these important issues.

- A Racial Reconciliation Program
- An HIV/AIDS Ministry

The
Commission is affiliated with and participates on steering committees
of the following organizations:
- Climate Connection Program, NC Council of Churches
- NC Air Quality Coalition, NC Conservation Network
- Institute for Dismantling Racism, Winston-Salem NC
- Sustainable Living by Community Choice (SLICE), Winston-Salem NC
- Winston Grows, Community and School Garden Program of the Winston-Salem Garden Council in cooperation with the Agricultural Extension Office and the Public Health Department
