2008 Winter
Retreat on
Feb 1-3 was attended by young adults from UNCG, Elon, UNC-CH, UNCC
and ECU. The weather was great for this time of year! The beach was
beautiful. Carl Southerland challenged the participants in their
thinking and understanding of Jesus with helpful biblical explorations.
The food was pretty good, too. Photos
College Age Retreat - Great Fun!
The Tise Lodge at Laurel Ridge was filled to capacity with a few staying over in Higgins. What a fine weekend! Neil Routh provided a thought provoking program! There was plenty of time to hang out, eat, hike to graveyards in the middle of the night, sing and have fun! Here are some pictures!
Young
Adult Convo 2007 is now History!!
"Make The Moravian Journey Home... and Catch A Vision for Our Future"
Prague and Herrnhut!!!
This convo was truly a once in a lifetime opportunity. Seeing the sites and feeling the history was inspiring to say the least. All 108 sojourners have returned safely from the 9 or so days of exploring our roots and looking toward the future. We were blessed beyond compare. Worshipping in Herrnhut and Berthelsdorf was indescribable. Go to the Convo page for some pictures. More will be posted soon.
2006 Fall College
Age Retreat Happened!
A small number
of college-agers got together the weekend of November 3 in the Tise Building
at Laurel Ridge for a spirited and lively retreat! Rev. Christy Clore led
the group in deep and enlightening discussions on faith and understanding.
The weather was cool, the food was good and the fellowship was outstanding.
Considering the small number, a discussion took place on future retreats.
The attendees felt that the retreat is important and want to see it continue,
so it will – same time, same place next fall! Here
are some pictures.

College Groups -
New Campus College
Efforts
It’s tough these days for Moravians to stay in contact with each other at home or when off at school. There are so many obligations and requirements today that it’s tough enough staying in contact on a particular campus, much less going to a retreat for the weekend or some other opportunity. Also, there are almost always plenty more Moravians all around that we just don’t know about (even Moravians from the Northern Province). So this fall we’re going with some new approaches. Below are some students that will be official “contacts” for the campus, but they will also try to inform you of things going on – things like retreats, dinners, etc. THERE ARE NEW FACEBOOK GROUPS FOR MORAVIANS IN DIFFERENT AREAS. If you aren’t in one, contact me or look for it.
If your school isn’t listed, I’d LOVE to hear from you about being the contact. It’d be great to have 2 per school/area, too. I think it’s important for Moravians (and friends of Moravians! – this isn’t JUST for Moravians!) to keep in contact. I hope you do, too.
