Regional Youth Council

The Regional Youth Council of the Moravian Church, Southern Province, is made up of senior high representatives of participating Moravian youth groups mostly in North Carolina.

The purpose of the RYC is to be a "connector" between Moravian youth and youth groups, doing whatever it can to promote unity and friendship among Moravian youth as they live and grow as followers of Christ. If your church is not currently represented, contact the Director of Youth and College Ministries, or the president of the RYC.

Southern Province Moravian Sr/Middle High Youth Facebook Page

If you are not already a part of this facebook page, and would like to, search under that name and ask to be included. It’s a new communication tool for Moravian middle and senior high youth (along with their leaders) of the Southern Province. It’s also a place to share pictures, discussions, etc.

Speak Out - A Teen Support Group

SPEAK OUT! – for your information – is a YEAR-ROUND, FREE support group for teens, ages 13-17, with any mental health issue such as (but not limited to): depression, anxiety, ADD, ADHD, bipolar disorder, grief/loss issues, etc.

SPEAK OUT! meets every first, third and fifth Monday evening -- beginning at 6pm -- of each month at BEST HEALTH IN HANES MALL. (Best Health is located opposite the U.S. Post Office in Hanes Mall.) SPEAK OUT! is led by a licensed mental health professional and refreshments are provided.

Parental/guardian permission is required for a teen to participate in SPEAK OUT! is required.

Fall-A-Fresh 2009 (Formally known as "rally")
Fell freshly at Kernersville Moravian Church on October 4, 2009. Games, singing, skits, small groups and pizza were enjoyed by those there. Here are a few pictures for your enjoyment.

At Home Moravian Church youth and adults from 15 Moravian Churches came together for:

Rev. Neil Routh spoke in the worship setting up the panel discussions that took place later in the evening. Questions were submitted then offered to two panels targeted to Senior High and Middle High youth. A great hot dog and macaroni & cheese dinner separated worship from the discussions. INVIGORATE Moravian Youth Conference

Invigorate Youth ConferenceThe INVIGORATE conference on Saturday, Feb. 23, 2008 was an invigorating experience for those youth and leaders who attended! The afternoon and evening consisted of games, worship, well received workshops, a diverse dinner which included Central American cuisine, and a concert by the Christian rock group, Me In Motion. Workshop themes included Sharing Faith, Diversity, Other Religions, Dating Relationships, Contemporary Music, and others. Here are some pictures!

Florida District Youth Retreat 08!
The Florida District youth retreat happened Feb. 8-10 at the Life for Youth Camp in Vero Beach, Florida! Bishop Sam Gray led the program. These retreats are always enlightening and fun. Six people from North Carolina went down in support of the retreat. Here are some great pictures.

Middle/Senior High Moravian Rally Happens!!!
Youth and adults from 25 Moravian churches gathered on the afternoon of Oct. 7, 2007, at Fairview Moravian Church in Winston-Salem for the fall Jr/Sr High Rally. Rev. Russell May led a challenging program translating the major players in our Moravian heritage into modern times. Singing, worship, pizza and a concert by the Acoustic Blend were also enjoyed. End of School Celebration in Florida! (Photos)
Youth from Rolling Hills, Palm Beach, and New Hope churches in the Florida District came together for an end-of school celebration. The young people spent Saturday at Universal Studio's "Islands of Adventure" theme park, then enjoyed a "lock-in" sleepover at Rolling Hills. On Sunday morning the young people met to share their vision for their church, and worshiped with the Rolling Hills congregation. The congregation was blessed in worship by a praise dance group from Palm Beach.

RALLYFEAST Consumed! (Photos)
About 180 youth and adults gathered on Sunday afternoon, March 11, at New Philadelphia Moravian for the second “Rallyfeast.” This unique take on the Moravian lovefeast included worship created and led by Regional Youth Council members, an array of food offerings to enjoy together and a concert by the local Christian singer-songwriter, Matt Weiser. It was great worship, fellowship, food and music!
